Duty Commenced PVP Special announced

The Duty Commenced team will be hosting a PVP special – “Culling Time” this Friday, March 18th starting at 3PM PDT at twitch.tv/finalfantasyxiv. They will be playing live from the Sargatanas server and queuing into The Feast, so if you’re on the Aether data center, keep your eyes out for Camate, Zhexos, and Bayohne in your parties.

PlayStation VR Pricing announced – what does this mean for FFXIV VR Experience?

Yesterday Sony announced the pricing for the PlayStation VR headset. The base unit will run $399 and will require the PlayStation Eye camera for PS4 to handle the motion and positioning controls. With this announcement, the major 3 players in the VR game, Occulus Rift ($600), HTC Vive ($800), and Sony PSVR ($400) have all announced pricing. With all this said, will this impact whether or not you play Final Fantasy XIV in Virtual Reality? What are some of your thoughts on this?

All Worlds Maintenance scheduled for Patch 3.22

There will be an All Worlds Maintenance scheduled tonight, March 16th at 11 PM PDT. This maintenance will bring us Patch 3.22, which contains fixes/adjustments to The Feast. Yoshi-P explains the issues in his forum post here.

Free Login Campaign returns to Final Fantasy XIV

If you’ve played Final Fantasy XIV in the past, or have taken a break from your subscription, now is your chance to come back and check out everything Patch 3.2 has to offer. For the next month, starting 3/14 and running through 4/14, you can sign in to your FFXIV account and play for up to 4 days. To qualify, your account must meet the following criteria:

  • Users who have previously purchased and registered FINAL FANTASY XIV.
  • All registered services accounts are set as inactive during the campaign period.
  • Registered service account must have been inactive for at least thirty days.

Final Fantasy XV rumored release date

According to an article on gaming website Gematsu, 3 independent sources have confirmed that the long-awaited release of Final Fantasy XV will be on September 30th, 2016. While this is still a rumor, we should learn the true release date on March 30th during the “Uncovered – Final Fantasy XV” event in Los Angeles. If the rumors are true, this is good news indeed for Final Fantasy fans.

Hatching-Tide coming soon!

Eorzea’s next seasonal event, Hatching-Tide, starts March 15th! Lots of new seasonal items will be available, as well as a certain song-that-must-not-be-named (just kidding…) Pa-Paya will be available for the Orchestrion! From the developer’s blog:

“Eggs have been strewn about the city-states for decoration, and adventurers can quickly feel the spirit of the festival with the brilliant and pastel colors.

This year Jihli Aliapoh will once again make a grand appearance, and word has it that there will be some kind of egg-citing mini-game!”

The event site will be going live on Monday, March 14th will all the event info.

Elysium clears A8S!

Elysium has cleared the entirety of Alexander Midas Savage mode. Posted a few minutes ago on their Twitter page, they announced the world-first clear of the Burden of the Son Savage mode. Congrats to them, and great job on clearing!

You’re Not Alone charity stream goes live March 11th

Go check out Limit Break Radio host Eskalia’s charity stream on March 11th at 5 PM ET on twitch.tv/limitbreakradio. He will be playing Final Fantasy IX start to finish to raise funds for Transgender Michigan, a nonprofit organization to help people with gender identity issues.
