This week, there is a plethora of Final Fantasy news for Seyrr, Taliz, and Klauss to discuss. In FFVII news, we go through the newest theme song trailer, discuss the behind-the-scenes making of the theme song “Hollow” by Nobuo Uematsu, and have Taliz give us his take on the FFVII event at the Tokyo Skytree. For FFXIV, we go through the information given to us in Live Letter 57, talk about Yoshida’s upcoming panel at PAX East, discuss the new FanFest information, and talk about why Yoshi-P is upset about mods and 3rd party tools in FFXIV. In the first episode of 2020, Klauss, Taliz, and Seyrr go over a bit of post holiday Final Fantasy news. We discuss the Final Fantasy modding community, give a brief history of modding, and go through some of the good, the bad, and the grey areas modding falls under. Taliz steps away from the culinary station and puts his weaver cap on to tell us all about his recent real life experience in working with different fibers for making yarns, strings, and other clothcraft! After a holiday break, Klauss, Seyrr, and Taliz are joined by Justin Blasdel, author of Final Fantasy VII – Old World of Darkness, a fan-created adaptation and scenario using the Old World of Darkness tabletop role-playing system and based on the world of Final Fantasy VII. We talk about his love of both FFVII and the Old World of Darkness system, what prompted him to combine the two, and what the process was like. In a shortened Lorbrarian’s Corner, Seyrr talks about The Tempest and Amaurot.
