SE has released Final Fantasy IX for Android and iOS. The game sports updated graphics and carries a hefty file size. From the official release, you need to have 8GB of free space to run it, and the download takes at least 4GB.
Square Enix is celebrating the one year anniversary of its Final Fantasy Portal app by giving away Final Fantasy II (Portal Version) to users. Until Feb 14th, users can download FFII for free on Android or iOS through the FF Portal. Please be aware, however, that if you need to re-download it after Feb 14th, you will need to purchase the app.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper is adding another FFIX character to play as in the new event, “Someone to Protect” starting tonight! Recruit and play as Beatrix, as well as get Steiner’s Memory Crystal 2, which ups his level cap from 65 to 80. The event runs from now until 2/6 at 4:59 PM.

Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida will be talking about more of what to expect in the upcoming Patch 3.2, as well as feature a special guest, FFXIV Localization lead Michael-Christopher Koji Fox. Koji will be available to field questions about lore, naming conventions for NPCs, items. enemies, and more. We also expect to get a date on when Patch 3.2 will be released in the game.

Just when you thought January 30th couldn’t get any busier, we now get news that Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata and global marketing director Akio Ofuji will be hosting an english-subtitled Active Time Report, starting at 8 PM PT on their YouTube channel. The pair will showcase new battle footage and magic scenes, and give us updates to the upcoming March 2016 event where SE plans to officially announce the Final Fantasy XV release date. Phoenix Down Radio will live-host the stream at our Twitch channel, so feel free to stick around after Episode 11 concludes and hang out with the PDR gang.
Square Enix also released new screenshots of the game, featuring the main character Noctis casting Fire magic, battling what appears to be Magitek armor, and using stealth tactics to sneak into enemy territory.
For all you action RPG fans out there, Final Fantasy Explorers is now available in North America as of today! If you have a Nintendo 3DS, you can go pick up your copy and get in on the fun!
Unlike the other story-focused titles in the Final Fantasy line, Explorers is quest-driven, similar to Crystal Chronicles or the Monster Hunter series. Characters can be assigned quintessential jobs from Final Fantasy games like White Mage, Black Mage, Monk, Paladin, Dragoon, and a host of others including game-specific jobs.
You can play with friends by sharing your Nintendo Friend code with others or enter a local game via WiFi.
